Europeana Vlaanderen overlegplatform, Brussel 17 April 2015

The Europeana Consultation Platform of Flanders (Europeana Vlaanderen Overlegplatform) informs and consults stakeholders from the cultural heritage sector on Europeana. The platform is organised by the Flemish Department of culture, youth, sport and media with the objective to communicate and exchange information on the Europeana related projects in which cultural and scientific institutes from Flanders and Brussels are involved.

With the objective to share experiences, best practices and technologies, the platform organizes periodic consultation meetings. These meetings are documented in detail in order to maximize communication and knowledge building throughout the community. The emphasis is on practical projects or interesting European developments that can contribute to the advancement of cultural heritage-, research- and education.

In this framework, Roxanne Wyns, from LIBIS, KU LEUVEN, delivered a presentation of the CIVIC EPISTEMOLOGIES project explaining in particular the outcomes for the Workshop on the Roadmap in Leuven.

The  meeting was held in the premises of the FARO (Flemish interface centre for cultural heritage), a not-for-profit organization that supports the sector of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in Flanders and is subsidized by the Flemish government. The Flemish Minister of Culture is responsible for the implementation of the cultural heritage policy.
